What's on offer

Classes for everybody who lives here.

Practical information is below. Times and booking live on the schedule. This page is for working out what you actually want to walk into.

Kids + Teens

Come play. Move your body. Make something weird.

Yinjas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Learn to fall down and get back up.

Kids learn real Brazilian Jiu Jitsu technique, enough to scrimmage and compete if they want to, alongside mindfulness practices that build self-esteem, self-control and emotional awareness.

Trauma-informed and evidence-informed. Promotions are earned through class hours and consistent training, not through loyalty to an instructor. Our Yinjas programme was developed in schools across Essex and Dundalk before it ever ran here.

Kids Mindfulness & Movement

Rest your brain. Make something weird.

Breath, movement, stillness and a lot of shaking it out. Kids practise noticing what is happening in their bodies, naming big feelings, asking for space, handling frustration, losing and trying again.

No experience needed and no expectation of sitting perfectly still.

Grown-Ups

Rest your brain. Meet your neighbours. Get strong anyway.

Adult BJJ & Self Defence

Train hard. Keep your body. Keep your mind.

Therapeutic and sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Mat Lab, built for women, families and hobbyists as much as for competitors.

We disrupt the hierarchy and ego-based training found in most combat sport gyms. You will be challenged and you will be supported while it happens. We encourage cross-training with other gyms, no undying loyalty required.

Women's Classes

Train hard somewhere that was actually built for you.

Women-only mat time and fitness, coached by women. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defence fundamentals, strength work, and the option to build up to the mixed classes whenever you want to, or never.

There are no women-owned BJJ gyms in this region, which is exactly why these classes exist. You will be challenged and you will be held up while it happens. No hierarchy, no ego, no proving yourself to anyone at the door.

Yoga & Meditation

Forget everything you thought you knew about yoga.

Sangha House Studio integrates yogic psychology with modern mindfulness science at the public health level. Nothing fancy. Nothing precious.

This is a space for real people looking to explore real life with awareness and a warrior’s spirit. Our teachers will help you adapt for the body you actually have.

Group Fitness & Strength

Get strong in a room full of people who want that for you.

Strength training and group fitness with the same mindfulness underneath everything else here. Practical tools for managing stress and anxiety, delivered while you are genuinely working.

Meditation & Sound Spa

Lie down. Let the gong do the work.

Guided meditation and sound. You do not have to be good at meditating. You have to lie on the floor, which most people can manage.

Families

Practise together so it works at home too.

Family Classes & Fun Nights

Come together. Leave calmer.

Family SEL experiences, family fun nights, parties and community wellness events. Kids and caregivers build shared language and practise regulation together, so the same strategies work at home as at school.

The point is not that everyone behaves. The point is that everyone practises.

Music

Make a noise on purpose.

Group music at the Club: drumming, singing, instruments passed around, and the occasional coach with a guitar. No lessons, no recital, no talent required.

Rhythm is a regulation practice as much as a creative one. Playing together does something to a room full of people that talking about feelings does not.

Art

Make something weird.

Hands-on making for all ages: painting, drawing, collage, printing and whatever else has turned up that week. Some of what gets made ends up on the walls here, which is the point.

Art at the Club is not a craft hour to keep kids busy. It is a way to practise attention, take a risk on something and be fine with how it turns out.

Adaptive Programs

Different brains. Different bodies. Same right to belong.

Yinjas Across the Spectrum

Different brains. Different bodies. Same right to belong.

Adaptive mindful movement and SEL for children with disabilities and higher support needs, designed to preserve participation, dignity, challenge and connection.

Our speciality is not “accommodating” people. It is building programmes that were inclusive from the first draft. We partner with the Maryland School for the Blind and the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland, and we work with families directly on adaptations.

Tell us what your child needs and we will work it out with you.

Ready when you are.

Every class is on the live schedule with times and spaces left. Drop in for $12 or join for $50 a month.
